PlanetScape

So far, all of the sprites in this game have been designed by myself. Some of them I put a good amount of thought into, and some are really just' temps' I never got around to taking out. Personally, I think the sprites I have made are pretty good (I'm not really a spriter), but I have realized they may not be of the quality this game deserves. A wise GMC member reminded me that in this industry, our 'books' really are judged by the cover, and I want PlanetScape's cover to look as amazing as the gameplay. I've also realized that it is not possible to get the level of quality I want for this game from my hand alone, especially in time to fit in to update 0.1.6.

So I've come to you, great community of designers and spriters, to help make this project grow even greater, and get the chance to carve your name in it's foundations, forever!

I will be posting the sprites I need in a list below. You may work on just one of them, or you may work on all of them.

It's all up to you how much work you want to put in.

HOW TO CREATE:

Below you will find the request list. Each request will have a description attached of what I am looking for, as well as the dimensions needed. You are allowed to deviate from the description slightly if you truly believe it will enhance the sprite or the overall game, but the dimensions of the sprite in the request are final and are a requirement. Submissions that do not meet the dimensions will be asked to resize before being considered. Some requests will be for completely new sprites, but most will be for better versions of sprites already in the game, for these requests it is recommended you download the original work to compare to.

HOW TO SUBMIT:

You may submit your work by filling out the form below, you'll need to upload your pictures to an image host, and then paste the links here.. You may submit more than one piece of work at time (and are encouraged to), but you must put the name of each request above each piece work. But please only post if you have a submission. If you have questions you can PM me.

POINTS AND TITLES:

Each request has a point value next to it, and if your submission for that request is selected and used in PlanetScape, you will be awarded those points. Bonus points will also be awarded for completing a set, such as doing all the boss sprites for 1 boss. Accumulating points will award you a title credit. A larger amount of points will gain you a greater title. The list of titles, as well as current standings, are below:

All artists be aware that by submitting your work to this request topic you are giving me ownership of that submission, to use or modify for use in PlanetScape, as we see fit. One of my goals is to create a PlanetScape Kickstarter Project, if this project is successfully funded, portion of the funds over the goal will go to the artists, at a rate of 10 cents per point awarded. But no payment is guaranteed.

These are all the standard blocks that are used in the game currently. For these it's important to keep them looking more or less the same as the original. What I am looking for here are enhancements, making these blocks 'pop' more, and be overall more interesting and compelling. You are free to choose any of these in any amount to work on, but bonus points will be awarded for completing blocks in bulk.

-Ghoul Town Wall:

This block goes on the surface as part of a ruin to be discovered. Should resemble the wooden wall block (block 10 in the 'current blocks') but look more like part of a town. This block needs 2 different versions: A ruined version and a rebuilt version. Points will be given for each version.

-Mole Town Wall:

This block will be underground. It should resemble the Stone Wall block (block 9 in the 'current blocks'), but again should resemble a town wall. This too needs 2 versions a ruined and a rebuilt.

-Fire Temple Wall:

This block will be underground, primarily around lava. It should resemble the Red Stone Wall block (block 86 in the 'current blocks'), but again resemble an ancient temple wall. This block needs 2 versions: A good version, and a corrupted evil version.

-Slimer Temple Wall:

This block will be underground, primarily around acid. It should resemble the Green Stone Wall block (block 87 in the 'current blocks'), but again resemble an ancient temple wall. This block needs 2 versions: A good version, and a corrupted evil version.

-Teleporter:

This block needs 2 versions, teleporter on, and teleporter off. Should look like its powered by purple ore (block 18)

-Void Rock

Rocks like on the surface (block 5) or underground (block 14) but these should have a dark and evil vibe. Main Colors should be black or a dark lavender.

-Void Dirt

Dirt like on the surface (block 1), but these should have a dark and evil vibe. Main Colors should be black or a dark lavender.

Tree

These are the trees in the game. The tree can look like pretty much whatever you want as long as it looks tropical and keeps the same colors. I need 3 frames of this tree to form a 'swaying' animation (sway left, center, sway right).
